The short answer
Positive input ventilation (PIV) is a quiet unit, usually fitted in the loft, that gently supplies filtered fresh air into a home. It pushes humid, stale air out and reduces condensation and mould. We supply, upgrade and install residential ventilation systems, including PIV.
Is PIV right for you?
- Condensation on windows and walls every morning
- Black mould in bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchens
- A damp or stuffy feel in the house
- A property that is well sealed but poorly ventilated
How does PIV work?
A PIV unit draws in air, filters it and delivers it at low speed into the home. This slightly raises the air pressure inside, which pushes moist, stale air out through the building’s natural gaps. Adequate ventilation reduces the risk of condensation and mould, and improves air quality and living conditions.
How we diagnose it
We check that condensation is the real problem and not another type of damp, then recommend the right system for the property.
How we treat it
